Projects
Mistra-SWECIA builds on five Projects:

Project 0: Planning, communication, synthesis and integration

Project 1: Climate modelling, with three Work Packages:
  WP1.1 Global climate system modelling
  WP1.2 Regional climate system modelling
  WP1.3 Climate change scenarios

Project 2: Climate-economy modelling, with three Work Packages:
WP2.1 Integrated and regionally disaggregated climate-economy models
WP2.2 Evaluation of the scope for global adaptation mechanisms
WP2.3 Purposeful Research and Development (R&D) and directed technical change

Project 3: Impact modelling and applications, with three Work Packages:
  WP3.1 Quasi-experimental statistical studies
  WP3.2 Global impacts and feedbacks
  WP3.3 Regional impacts and adaptation

Project 4: The process of adaptation to climate change, with three Work Packages:
WP4.1 Stakeholder mapping and climate risk perception
  WP4.2 Social learning on adaptation
  WP4.3 Policy analysis and integration

Case studies
Within Mistra-SWECIA, cross-cutting case studies are focused research efforts, pulling from the different projects. This leads to consistent analysis of climate change and impacts, other drivers of change, vulnerability and adaptation options. The targeting nature of the case studies also promotes end-user relevance. The case studies are at the same time set in a broader context to elucidate the local-to-regional-to-global interdependencies and to faciltate generalizations of the results.

See more about the two first case studies here: Stockholm case study 2008-2009 and Forestry case study 2009-2010.

On 8-10 November 2010, the international conference “Climate Adaptation in the Nordic Countries: Science, Practice, Policy" will be held in Stockholm, Sweden. The conference is an initiative of the NORDic CLimate change ADaptation research Network (NORDCLAD-Net) and will be organized by SEI in collaboration with Mistra-SWECIA. The NordForsk TFI grant and Mistra-SWECIA provide the core funding. The...
