The EC-EARTH model

Klaus Wyser, Per Kållberg and Torben Königk provide an overview on the development of a new Earth System Model (ESM), the EC-Earth. In addition to today´s climate models that include the atmosphere, the ocean and the land surfaces, an ESM also includes additional active components, such as vegetation and atmospheric chemistry. The EC-Earth is a strong candidate for the core global model platform of Mistra-SWECIA.
