Mistra-SWECIA Science Seminar #1:10, 26 February 2010
This Science Seminar will take place at Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis at Lund University on 26 February. The theme for the seminar is "The biosphere in the climate system".

Accounting for land surface feedbacks on climate by incorporating vegetation dynamics and biogeochemistry in climate models is a current priority in the climate modelling community. An increasing awareness of climate change, the scope of its implications and the potential for adaptation to address and reduce risks has led to increasing interest in the analysis of impacts on ecosystem and their services. These contasting, but interdependent, dimensions of biosphere-climate research are explored in this seminar which highlights new findings and ongoing work at the research front.

Invited speakers are Marko Scholze, Dept of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol, Markku Rummukainen, Geobiosphere Science Centre, Lund University, Gustav Strandberg, Rossby Centre, Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute and Anna Wramneby, Geobiosphere Science Centre, Lund University.

Non-SWECIA people are also welcome.

Download presentations from the seminar.
